Work Package 4 - Development & Support of local E-Community activities
Main results foreseen for this Work Package are:
- Improved Internet use by private users
- Enhanced use of the internet as a regional communication tool & means for the organisation of community life (NGOs, Culture etc.)
- Improved E- literacy & WEB access for disadvantaged target groups.
Developing stable eCommunities is the task in WP4. Here the cooperation with the iCoin project (started march 2006, more information on this project ist available at www.i-coin.net) is a vital source of information, input and knowledge transfer.
Until now training courses for the public were carried out and further courses are being designed. The results are available for all partners who want to implement equal measures. In Osterholz (Germany) participation processes of local people, politicians and enterprises were supported through the T-City competition – this also helped creating the grounds for e-Community in this region. These processes will continue in 2007 when the decisions on the projects are taken that will be carried out with money won in this competition. The Danish partner has prepared a Practical Guide for E-Community Development in 2006.
