The compendium

The Baltic rural Broadband Compendium can be taken as the main result of the whole Baltic rural Broadband Project. Not only as a full printed or online version, but as a summary of the baseline, strategy papers, best practices, solutions and experiences of each Project partner.

Yet, this Compendium was written for interested individuals and decision makers, wanting to find out more about the Baltic rural Broadband Project, about broadband facts and the newest technologies. Each chapter of this Compendium is the common result of a long-term partnership. The Compendium was written as a result for practice oriented ideas and experiences on the development of cheap and fast local broadband access as a tool of regional development in rural areas. Since investments by national telecom providers are not to be expected, adapted solutions with alternative cheap techniques usable at a decentralised level will be developed as the core task of this Project.
All possible solutions exist only partly and at a relatively small scale. The Compendium’s reader receives an overview of projects and activities contained in the whole Baltic rural Broadband Project.

The Compendium is only one source of information on the Project or single parts of the Project. Please, contact the developers and regional project managers and have a look to the download section, also.
