The Project Backbone

The project is aiming to construct a network to enable an IT-related information and experience exchange at transnational level. Main aspects unless experience exchange are joint development and testing of technical solutions and concepts by international expert teams created by members of different partner regions. Altogether there are twenty-three regional partners from nine countries of the Baltic Sea and Norway, who belongs to the project.

Next to Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Finland the new EU-member states Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Poland are part of the project. Due to the transnationality of the Baltic Rural Broadband Project it`s easier to find different levels of answers to solve consisting problems of missing broadband access in rural areas. Through sharing experiences with other partners, benchmarking and joint further development of innovative local broadband strategies, synergies can be created and will avoiding to invent the wheel twice.
